Alfred

Look, its Alfred! I've sketched so many stylish bloggers over the last two years, so today I thought I'd share something new and different. A sketch of a blogger's puppy! This is Alfred, one of the "pleasantly plump pugs" that appear in the adorable pictures taken by Katie Armour on her blog, the neo-traditionalist. Ever since moving to New York I've become obsessed with pugs. They're the perfect size and attitude level for this city. I love pugs of all shapes and sizes. But lately, I 've started choosing favorites. Alfred and Winston to be precise. (Winston is Alfred's partner in crime) Katie's pug snapshots on her blog are so priceless. When I saw this one, I knew I could never really do it justice but I just had to sketch it anyway. Look at that head tilt! ps. buy a print!

Soooo cute! Great job on his face. I find pooches tough to capture, but still fun. This reminds me of when I spotted someone on the street I wanted to illustrate so I asked to take her pic. She was holding a little dog that looked like this one, and asked if she should put him down so he’d be out of the shot. Of course I said no. :-)
