Hello! Meet Louise!
Harry & Louise are columnists for Washingtonian Magazine. They recently launched a new online advice column, Ask Harry & Louise
. My illustrations grace their new logo design...
and blog header...
See how understanding and full of advice they look? Read their column over this lovely weekend and stay warm if your in NYC - they're calling for SNOW!
introducing Dear Stella
, a new fabric design company! Dear Stella launched its new website and I helped out with this "About Page" illustration of the Stella girl. She's described as "an inspiring and independent spirit. Creative, adventurous, and hopelessly romantic. She loves beautiful paper, a perfectly wrapped gift, and always sends handwritten thank you notes."
sounds like my kinda girl!
So go visit the Dear Stella site to see their beautiful fabrics. the Lanikai
collection is my favorite. I want to put the Gridlock pattern on everything.
Happy Friday! Here are some of my sketches that are currently featured on Moda Operandi
. The sketches are modeling Mawi
and Tom Binns
creations that are part of the M'O trunkshows so that customers can envision what they'll look like in the jewelry! Cool, huh?
have a wonderful weekend!
hello! just wanted to post a quick sketch of a design detail i am currently a fan of - back buttons.
i love the idea of a simple shirt or sweater and yet i never buy them.
because, well, when your in the dressing room and you're holding a simple black sweater in one hand and a party dress in the other, if your anything like me you end up walking out with the dress.
but i think i could get on board with buying some more staples if they had back "surprise" details. seems just a little more fun!
meet my two designers
Lynn and Sharon are California-based interior designers who commissioned me to help them create their brand new website. The site showcases this lovely logo and a multitude of well curated collections inspired by design styles from around the country and world.
I illustrated a vignette of each of their 16 collections, here's a sampling...
this one's called "pinstripe" and i love the giant horns on the glass table...
this is "bridgehampton"... who doesn't wish they had a giant squid painting?
and "lindenwood" with its shining gold lamps and cheerful cherry color...
and 'yountville' - a tribute to the chicness of a muted color pallet.
Be sure to visit their website
to see the rest of the collection!
happy birthday lizzy!
lizzy is not turning 3 as this sketch might suggest. but in the time i've know her i've seen more adorable baby pictures of her than i have of myself. and for good reason, she was THE cutest kid.
lizzy spent her childhood enjoying oversized, high fashion accessories (such as these gaga-esque shades and large bow) and she still today can be spotted as the best dressed person in pretty much any scenario.
so happy birthday to you, my pet! such a beautiful day in NYC to celebrate!
